We note that preliminary quick look analysis shows an extremely soft and short peak in the 15-25 keV Swift/BAT light curve, at T0-12 seconds from the timestamp of the first burst reported from CHIME/FRB (ATEL #14074). We believe this to be within a few seconds of the expected dispersion corrected prompt emission time. SGR 1935+2154 was in the BAT FoV at this time, it is possible BAT did not autonomously trigger onboard due to increased thresholds for this known source (see eg ATEL #13758).
Event data are not yet available to confirm that this flare comes from SGR 1935+2154, but the temporal coincidence is strongly suggestive.
Further detailed analysis is in progress.
Follow up observations are requested.
