Within a course of optical monitoring campaign of Soft X-ray Transient (SXT) Aql X-1 performed with the 1-m SAO RAS optical telescope since end of April we have detected indications on start a new outburst. According to our preliminary results in R-bands, it's brightness increased between August 10th and 17th, as it was noted also in (ATel #13953). Our estimates of brightness of Aql X-1 optical counterpart in R-band in April-July were between 17.9 and 18.3 mag. Meanwhile, R-magnitude for epochs after August 17th demonstrated smooth trend for increasing, as seen in Table.
Date | JD | R_mag |
20200810 | 2459072.2 | 18.30 |
20200817 | 2459079.2 | 17.65 |
20200818 | 2459080.2 | 17.60 |
20200820 | 2459082.3 | 17.55 |
20200829 | 2459091.2 | 17.20 |
Typical errors of brightness estimates are about 0.03-0.05 mag and should be decreased after more accurate data reduction. Measurements at August,29th had some worse accuracy due to bright sky background (near 0.1 mag). Further observations of Aql X-1 in X-ray, UV, Optical, IR and Radio ranges are highly encouraged.
