We report the classification of AT 2020npb from spectroscopic observations with the GMOS-N spectrograph on the Gemini telescope. The target was supplied by ZTF. All observations were made on 2020 Jul 2 UT. The classification was performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ZTF20abhmqdn | AT2020npb | 17:59:58.22 | +44:51:45.63 | 0.038 | Ia | -4 d | (1)
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy. (1) We measure an Si II 6355 velocity of -11,600 km/s and a NaID doublet EW of 1.3 Angstroms. The transient's host, UGC 11088, is located in an active TESS sector.
We thank the Gemini Observatory staff for helping with these target-of-opportunity observations.
