We report the spectroscopic classification of ZTF19actabny flagged by a custom filter on the ANTARES alert-broker (https://antares.noao.edu/) as a promising stellar explosive event from the public alert stream of the ZTF survey. The optical spectrum was obtained on 2020 March 2 UT with the Kast double spectrograph on the Shane 3 m telescope at Lick Observatory.
Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ZTF19actabny | AT2019vas | 17:13:55.47 | +21:40:04.37 | 0.159 | IIn | post-max. (>40 days) | (1), (2)
Note: (1) Classification was performed with DASH (Muthukrishna et al. 2019, arXiv:1903.02557). The light curve of the source can be accessed at https://antares.noao.edu/alerts/locus/8816855.
(2) There is no apparent host for the supernova in the SDSS and PS1 images and at its estimated redshift, its apparent magnitude corresponds to M ~ -21mag.
