On Oct 21, 2019, we obtained a spectrum of the optical transient AT2019rws/ASASSN-19yl located in the galaxy NGC2205 (z=0.028) with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on board 2.3m ANU telescope at Siding Spring Observatory. We classify the transient as a Type Ia Supernova at a phase of 18 days post maximum by spectral fitting with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
