We report optical spectroscopic observations of supernova candidates ASASSN-18zk (ATel #12194) and
ZTF18acbvgqw using the Kast spectrograph mounted on the 3-m Shane telescope at Lick Observatory. The
targets were discovered by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN; Shappee et al. 2014)
and the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF; ATel #11266). We used SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666,
1024) to identify the supernova types and phases from the spectra.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Survey Name | IAU Name | UT Obs. Date | Spec. Type | Phase (peak brightness) | Redshift
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASASSN-18zk | SN 2018hzg | 2018-11-09.55 | Ia | a week before maximum | 0.02169 (NED)
ZTF18acbvgqw | SN 2018htt | 2018-11-09.30 | Ia | a few days before maximum | 0.00867 (NED)

Note: The SNID estimated redshifts of these supernovae are consistent with those of their host galaxies.
