We obtained a spectrum of SMT17qul/AT 2017fwa (Möller et al. 2017, TNSTR, 837, 1) on 2017 August 12.5 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the Las Cumbres Observatory 2-meter telescope on Haleakala, Hawai'i. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 1190), we find good fits to several normal Type Ia supernovae in the week after maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.028; Loveday et al. 1996, ApJS, 107, 201 via NED), after accounting for host extinction of AV ~ 2 mag. The spectrum is available on the Transient Name Server.
