We report the following classifications of optical transients from spectroscopic observations with KOSMOS on the KPNO Mayall 4-m telescope. Targets were supplied by the ASAS-SN and ATLAS. All observations were made on 2017 July 27 UT. Classifications were performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ATLAS17ivr | AT2017fow | 14:29:44.86 | +67:38:53.30 | 0.066 | Ia | -2 d | (1)
ASASSN-17jo | AT2017fqh | 02:42:58.95 | -10:07:26.00 | 0.054 | Ia | +5 d | (2)
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.
(1) We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -11,000 km/s.
(2) We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -9,900 km/s.
