The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic classification of CSS170430:122149+255222 in IC 3203, discovered by the Catalina Real-Time Sky Survey.

The observations were performed with the Asiago 1.22 m Galileo Galilei Telescope equipped with the B&C spectrograph (range 330-790 nm; resolution 0.7 nm).

(1) The spectrum is consistent with that of a Type Ia SN at about the maximum light. The redshift is taken from Courtois & Tully, 2015, MNRAS, 447, 1531. The expansion velocity of the ejecta, as deduced from the position of the P Cygni mumimum of the Si II 635.5 nm line is about 12900 km/s, which is consistent with CSS170430:122149+255222 being a member of the high-velocity gradient group of Benetti et al. 2005, ApJ, 623, 1011.

Classification were done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The Asiago classification spectra are posted at the website http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it.
