We observed Type IIb supernova SN 2016gkg discovered by Buso & Otero (vsnet-alert 20188) and confirmed by Nicholls et al. (2016; ATel #9521) with the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) on 2016 November 09.76 UT in 1390 MHz band. We clearly detect radio emission from the supernova position reported by Nicholls et al. (2016; ATel #9521). The flux density of the supernova in this band is 0.36 +/-0.07 mJy. More observations are planned. We thank GMRT staff for carrying out the observations.
