We report the spectroscopic classification of the MASTER OT J120451.50+265946.6 (ATeL #6634) as a type Ib supernova, based on a low resolution spectrum (350-920 nm) obtained on Oct 29.0 UT with the HFOSC instrument on the Indian Astronomical Observatory's 2-m Himalayan Chandra Telescope. The spectrum exhibits well-developed features of He I, Fe II and Ca II. Using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024), a best match is found with several normal type-Ib supernovae a few weeks after maximum. The expansion velocity deduced from the He I 5876 absorption feature is ~8300 km/sec.
