We report the discovery with the IBIS/ISGRI telescope on board INTEGRAL
of a previously unknown hard X-ray source IGR J12349-6434.
The source was detected while analysing the public data relative to the nearby source 2RXP J130159.6-635806
(Chernyakova et al., submitted to MNRAS). The best fitted position is R.A.=12h34m53.634s, Decl.=-64d34m05.81s
(equinox 2000.0, uncertainty 2'). In the 20 - 60 keV mosaic image of 11.01.2003 - 07.07.2003
(167ks), 10.07.03 - 18.07.03 (485 ks), and 24.12.2003 - 22.03.2004 (160 ks) source was
detected at a level of 3.2+/-0.4 mCrab (S/N=9.2), 3.7+/-0.2 mCrab (S/N=15.4), and
3.3+/-0.4 mCrab (S/N=8.9) respectively.
The average flux in 16 - 20, 20 - 30, 30 - 40, 40 - 60, 60 - 100 keV was equal
to 5.3+/-0.1 mCrab, 4.3+/-0.4 mCrab, 3.3+/-0.5 mCrab, 2.7+/-0.5 mCrab, and 1.6+/-0.8 mCrab respectively.
We encourage follow-up observations of this source at all wavelengths.
