Discovery of X-ray pulsations from the HMXB AX J1749.1-2733

We report a discovery of X-ray pulsations from the source AX J1749.1-2733 (Squera et al. 2006, Atel.#1035) with a period of ~132.1 s based on XMM-Newton data obtained in March 2007. The observed pulse profile has a double peak structure with a pulse fraction about ~30% in the 2-10 keV energy band. Moreover we found that a periodicity with the period of ~131.6 s is present in the IBIS/INTEGRAL data during the outburst on 8-10 September 2003 in the 20-60 keV energy band. The pulse fraction in the hard energy band is higher and reaches ~50%. Thus AX J1749.1-2733 is a new X-ray pulsar in a high mass X-ray binary. The detailed results on the source properties are presented in a separate paper Karasev et al. (2007, submitted).
