A new optical Nova in M31

We report the discovery of a optical nova in M31 on four consecutive dithered R filter CCD images obtained on (2007 July 19.00741, 19.00890, 19.01041, 19.01193, with corresponding R magnitudes of 18.8, 18.7, 18.8, 18.5) obtained at the 1.3m Ritchey Chretien f/7.5 telescope at Skinakas Observatory, Crete, Greece, using an Andor DZ436-BV CCD Camera (with a Marconi 2k x 2k chip with 13.5Âµm sq. pixels). It was also detected on 3 Halpha images, the stacked image (2007 July 19.06966) yields a corresponding Halpha magnitude 18.3 using the method described in ATEL#1141. The position obtained for the nova candidate is RA(2000) = 00h 43m 03.29s , Dec(2000) = +41Â° 14' 52.94" with an accuracy of 0.1". A stacked image from 2007 July 18.01440 shows no object at the position of the nova candidate brighter than the limiting R magnitude of ~20.5. All magnitudes given are from a photometric solution using R magnitudes of the Massey M31 catalog.
The nova also appears at R=18.5(UCAC) on 2007 07 19.09367 in stacked unfiltered images (32 x 30sec) obtained with the 0.35m f/2 reflector and an SBIG ST-10 CCD Camera (with a Kodak 2k x 1.5k chip with 6.8Âµm sq. pixels) of the Observatorio Astronomico de La Sagra, Spain.
